These pieces, called the Dire Amethyst Series, were Character Portraits for a client based mainly on the 7' tall green gargoyle beauty of the same name.
The series began with simply "Dire Amethyst" (next piece shown), and though we've produced at least 6 or 7 sketches of the character, my favorite was the second, "Dire Moon" (to your right).
These pieces are all for sale as signed, numbered limited edition prints in museum mats ( and yes, the client and creator of the character gets a share of the profits).
