This was one of the pieces from a 28-piece contract for a "Deck of Illusions", which was a prop for a
Dungeons & Dragons game. The set consisted of 4 suits (1-good humanoid; 2-good monsters; 3-evil monsters; 4-undead) with 7
ranks each. We used the faces of the actual players in the game for most of the humanoid faces in the cards. These were all
sketched & inked, copied, then colored by prismacolor pencil. I then made a single color copy & had the copy and original
laminated (which was all tricky because they had designed backs on the flip-side as well).
The originals went to the client & I kept the single copies for my portfolio, although there was one set of 4 I missed!
