This is a great example of "Detailed Pencil". This piece, "Vaughn" from 1997, was a character portrait
contracted this way. Although I love the way it looks, I used to shy away from detailed pencil as it doesn't tend to reproduce
very well. I amazed myself when I was able to scan it decently for this site! I have since found some fairly simple ways to
reproduce pencil nicely, even to the point of retail quality.
